Gameweek 11: The Set Up

Here are our sides for this upcoming Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Gameweek, with a little commentary from each of us on our teams and what we’ve done with them since last time out. We also update you guys on the Darksiders (anti-meta) team for this week, plus give the WaG pick.

Nick

Pre-OR: 364k

Moves: None

Nick says: “Kane starting in Spurs victory against Real Madrid and confirmation from Pochettino in relation to his fitness means he looks set to start this weekend. It therefore looks like my gamble to keep him on my bench this weekend paid off and makes the captain choice very easy this week. On the back of this news I have decided to roll my transfer, a tricky game week in terms of fixtures for the majority of my players but no immediate fires to put out. The prospect of two free transfers over the international break is enticing and I don’t wish to expose myself to too much un-necessary risk at this point.”

Tom

Pre-OR: 1.4m

Moves: Morata OUT / Kane IN

Tom says“Kane in for Morata this week as I rescind last week’s transfer, tail between my legs. I reacted too quickly I think. Team looking solid but unspectacular to be honest, with much hinging on a Kane performance plus hopes that the likes of Ritchie, Richarlison and Vardy will be pitching in. Kaku to come in after internationals, with benched Bellerin to be also removed soon for a Burnley defender.”

Darksiders

Pre-OR: 500k

Moves: Arnautovic OUT / Ramsey IN

Team Manager Palpatine says: “Lack of returns makes the terminator too anti-meta for my darksiders and thus Arnie has been terminated himself. In comes Ramsey who I expect to wield points power akin to his namesake from Game of Thrones.

The WaG pick

As we wrote pre-season, this year we’re running a WaG pick feature to test the power of luck in FPL on that most important of weekly decisions, the captaincy, using Sarah and Nicola’s total disregard for football and subsequent limited knowledge on the subject of football to see if they can beat our perhaps more informed captaincy choices.

Last week, Sarah chose Sanchez as her captaincy pick, giving her a disappointing 2 points – beating out Nick’s 4 for Salah and Tom’s 1 for Jesus.

Tom is leading the captaincy picks with 60 overall, with Nick on 40 and the WaGs catching up with him on 37.

Will the pacy Egyptian be too fast for West Ham’s back line?

Nicola’s pick for the captain’s armband is Mo Salah because he sounds like Mo Farah. Maybe Salah can put in a marathon FPL performance against West Ham at the weekend.

All the best for the Gameweek ahead!

WGTA.
