Here are our sides for this upcoming Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Gameweek, with a little commentary from each of us on our teams and what we’ve done with them since last time out. We also update you guys on the Darksiders (anti-meta) team for this week, plus give the WaG pick.
Unfortunately we weren’t able to release an article in time for the midweek fixtures but will aim to cover ground missed from the previous week
Gameweek 17 moves: Morata, Daniels OUT, Kenny, Lukaku IN (-4)
Gameweek 18 moves: Ward OUT, Masuaku IN
“Enforced changes really as lots of my team spend time in the physio room. Concerns over getting a starting 11 out this gameweek means that rather than rolling my transfer I am enforced to make another change with Ward coming out and the West Ham defender Masuaku coming in, in advance of the double gameweek to come in the future. Ward, had been a great success in terms of building squad value but it was time to cash out what with Burnley’s fixtures stiffening and question marks over him starting. Femenia has been injured as soon as I brought him in too but he gets a stay of execution for the time being”
Gameweek 17 moves: Wilson, Ramsey OUT, Calvert-Lewin, David Silva IN (-4)
Gameweek 18 moves: Ryan, Walker OUT, de Gea, Kenny IN (-4)
Gameweek 17 moves: NONE
Gameweek 18 moves: Mane, Wilson OUT, Son, Rashford IN (-4)
Team Manager Palpatine says:
“Out with the old and in with the new. I have lost patience with Mane and Wilson and they are out and I have found some new darksiders to take their place. Rashford and Son are two very off the radar picks that have been performing well in the Premier League. Now I have placed my faith in them, I hope they do not let me down.”
The WaG pick
As we wrote pre-season, this year we’re running a WaG pick feature to test the power of luck in FPL on that most important of weekly decisions, the captaincy, using Sarah and Nicola’s total disregard for football and subsequent limited knowledge on the subject of football to see if they can beat our perhaps more informed captaincy choices.
Sarah picked Dele Alli for the weekend fixtures and Nicola picks Kevin De Bruyne yet again as her midweek choice, with her crush on him now almost as big as her crush on Eddie Howe! Alli picked up an assist against Stoke and De Bruyne scored against Swansea, bringing back a decent return of 16 points over the two Gameweeks. Nick and Tom played Kane, Hazard switcheroo over the two Gameweeks. Nick however picked the right fixtures to captain each bringing back 15 points. Tom however suffered a double blank and only got 4 points.
This week Sarah has picked Lacazette, the cassette man again. Maybe they’ll continue their fine form with their picks and we’ll see big returns for the Arsenal man this Gameweek.
In terms of the captain pick race, the gap has closed a little bit!
Tom still leads with 88 points but Nick is catching up with 70 points and the WaGs are just behind with 69 points.
All the best for the Gameweek ahead!
