Gameweek 7: The Set Up

Here are our sides for this upcoming Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Gameweek, with a little commentary from each of us on our teams and what we’ve done with them since last time out. We also update you guys on the Darksiders (anti-meta) team for this week, plus give the WaG pick.

Pre OR: 1.271m

Moves: Lowe > Daniels

Nick says: It was a heads or tails as to who would go, the options being Lowe and Joselu. Lowe had served me well in the short time he had been a member of the 101 Darmians but, with Spurs up next, I wasn’t convinced he would even muster a single point in Gameweek 7. Joselu was on the edge of leaving, with me furious at the -4 I had taken the previous week but Danny Higginbottom’s article on Sky saved him from the chopping block on the last minute. With a 4.9 budget for my replacement defender, in comes Daniels for the Leicester home game. He who offers the chance for both defensive and attacking returns. It is likely to be a one week punt with my itchy trigger finger hanging over the wildcard button anticipating doing it during international break”

Pre OR: 2.19m
Moves: Kun > Lacazette

Tom says: What a week. Since wildcarding, I’ve had Vardy being a big doubt (likely to play it seems, luckily), Chalobah ruled out long term (which will mean an FT somewhere down the line to replace him), RLC out for now 2 weeks (thanks to him being ineligible v parent club Chelsea next week), and today’s news of Kun’s poor fortune in a private hire cab. I have to concentrate on fielding an XI, with Lacazette coming in for me to replace Kun and free up valuable cash in the bank to enable further moves to get a City player and perhaps Morata in next week. Lacazette is my choice out of Jesus and Morata (playing each other) and the Frenchman. The key for this is many in my mini-league have Morata this week, so I’m hoping to steal a march on them through having Lacazette for the plum looking Brighton home fixture which, surely, will be a regulation 3-0 win. wat eve SWA afterwards mean he’s decent enough to hold on to as well. Could be hit city next week, though, to solve some problems! Kane armband is undisputed: the away form is insane.

The Darksiders

Team manager Palpatine says: “Gabbiadini had to go, he was so anti-meta he was an irrelevance as he looks to be a serious doubt in his position. One FT has been made to bring pseudo-Norwegian Josh King in, who also gets the armband! Martial injury is unfortunate, as he was a low-owned differential who could benefit from the lack of Pogba potentially in the United midfield. I think we’ll relegate both of the Liverpool boys to the bench, as I don’t think they’ll storm it. Wijnaldum is a steady trooper, but he isn’t getting silver armor anytime soon; however, if he is forced onto the pitch we’ll hope he shows his old club what’s what.”

The WaG Pick

A Kevin de Blinder ahead?

This week, Nicola has chosen Kevin de Bruyne as her pick, with the Belgian part of an in-form City team and against his old side Chelsea. The reasoning was that his name reminds her of the initials of her old school.

Tom still leads the field on 44, with Nick on 27 and the WaGs lagging behind somewhat on just 15.

Cheers guys! ATB for the Gameweek ahead.
